Contreras Cancer Fund

The Contreras Cancer Fund was established on June 7, 1997 during the celebration of Life at the Oasis of Hope. On that day, the Executive Director of the Cancer Aid and Research Fund, Mr. Larry McKay, guaranteed, "All contributions to the Contreras Cancer Fund will be utilized to help patients obtain care at Oasis of Hope."

The Cancer Aid and Research Fund (CARF) is a non-profit, international organization that was incorporated in 1988 in the state of Arizona. CARF is an organization that provides information and assistance to the general public concerning cancer and other chronic degenerative diseases. In addition, the organization collects, distributes and educates the public about products which have proven healing qualities. CARF emphasizes treatment and prevention of cancer. General assistance is also provided to cancer patients and their families through local support groups. After researching a number of cancer clinics the executives of CARF were compelled to direct support to cancer patients that wanted to receive treatment at the Oasis of Hope.

The Contreras family has always acknowledged that the hospital exists to fulfill God’s purposes. Often, people in need of care at the Oasis of Hope lack the funds necessary to receive treatment. For this reason, the Contreras Cancer Fund was established. Since June, 1997, CARF has received donations that have helped hundreds of patients receive cancer treatment at Oasis of Hope.

Records are kept of all contributions and they are tax deductible. Any amount is gladly accepted. If you have any further questions about Cancer Aid and Research, please contact them directly or ask you patient representative or you health care advisor.
