Home Care Treatment

The Oasis of Hope home care treatment program provides its patients with an at-home therapeutic regimen designed for continued recovery with constant support from the Oasis of Hope medical staff. With most cancer treatments it is necessary to give the body time in order to evaluate how it has reacted to the therapies. In addition, it is necessary to give the body a few weeks to heal in order to continue pre-conditioning the body for further treatment. The Oasis of Hope provides patients with a comprehensive home care treatment program designed to slow the growth of the tumor between the initial cancer treatments and eliminate or postpone the need for further treatment.

The tumor-retardant strategies employed at the Oasis of Hope home care treatment program have several goals:

• To slow the growth of intervening directly in signaling pathways that make cancer grow more rapidly and aggressively
• To inhibit the process that makes tumor spread possible
• To boost the capacity of white blood cells (also known as natural killers) to eliminate new small metastases of cancer cells

While patients receive treatment, we will begin to educate them on how to live healthy lives when they return home and how to continue therapy. Doctors, nurses, and the follow-up department will work with patients and their loved ones to design and personalize their home care treatment. This is a very cost effective way for patient’s to continue therapy for prolonged periods of time. Doctors at the Oasis of Hope have observed that the patients who get the best results are those who make a real commitment to the program.

During your stay at the hospital, you will be asked to attend a weekly follow-up meeting where you will get an introduction to our home care treatment. Also, during your stay you will meet with our follow-up coordinator who will help explain your personalized treatment and answer any of your questions.
