Welcome New PatientsThank you for choosing Oasis of Hope. We are looking forward to partnering with you through your healing process. Please, make yourself comfortable, it is important to us that you feel at home, relaxed, and focused on your healing.Other than a smile and welcoming hugs, one of the first things you will receive upon your arrival at Oasis of Hope is a patient handbook where you will find information about your care, services offered, and important medical information. This handbook was specifically designed to ease your stay at Oasis of Hope, please read it carefully and refer to it anytime a question might arise. As part of our strategy to relieve any anxiety you may have, Oasis of Hope will assign a patient representative to you before your arrival. Your patient representative is one of the first people you will meet with once you arrive at Oasis of Hope. They will guide and familiarize you with the hospital and provide you with further information. As a patient of Oasis of Hope we encourage you to be proactive in your treatment. You and your companion have full access to our emotional and spiritual counselors and our educational classes, such as weekly lectures given by Dr. Francisco Contreras, our question & answer session with our director of medical research Dr. Barroso, home care treatment and follow up lectures, companion workshops, and many others. A key feature of Oasis of Hope Hospital is that physicians and counselors are housed under one roof. Knowledge, insight and comfort for your specific illness are only a few steps away from your room. Take comfort in knowing that treating patients as we would treat ourselves is the basis of our philosophy and we do so with love, faith and hope. Arrival Time We recommend that on your first day you arrive between 7:30am and 10:00pm in the morning. If you are flying in, we suggest that you stay wait in the baggage claim area until one of our drivers picks you up. Fasting Requirements Begin fasting at midnight prior to your first day of arrival at the Oasis of Hope. It is important to only consume drinking water so our medical staff can start proper laboratory testing on your first day. Registration You will be asked to fill out a registration form. Once you have registered, you will receive an identification card and meal tickets. You will be asked for this card regularly, so please keep it handy.
