I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1999 and underwent a radical prostatectomy at Mission Hospital in California. A few months later, my cancer levels began to rise again, and I was told that I would need massive radiation treatments — treatments that might not even work.

My father and three uncles had previously been treated at Oasis of Hope, all with excellent results. Three of them had prostate cancer, and one had stomach cancer. Remembering their experiences, and after much prayer and research, my wife Sandy and I decided to commit to the Oasis of Hope protocol.

I have been in remission since 2000, with my PSA levels remaining stable ever since. We were blessed to have caring doctors and nurses in a faith-based hospital who took excellent care of me — physically, emotionally, and spiritually. They prayed for us throughout my treatment and have continued to do so over the years.

I’ve had several follow-up visits since 2000. Sandy and I lovingly call them our “Tune-ups.” Each time we return, we are reminded that Oasis of Hope truly feels like family — a place filled with friendship, compassion, and the love of Christ.
I would not hesitate to follow Oasis of Hope’s protocol again should there ever be a recurrence. Over the years, we have also met many wonderful people there who have become lifelong friends — true brothers and sisters in Christ.
