Healing the Whole Person — Body, Mind, and Spirit

Since 1963, Oasis of Hope has believed that healing is more than medical treatment — it’s a journey that touches every part of who we are. Our Christ-centered approach combines advanced medicine with emotional care and spiritual strength, helping patients and families find peace, courage, and hope in the midst of illness.

Faith at the Heart of Healing

Faith is not just part of what we do — it’s our foundation. Our founder, Dr. Ernesto Contreras Sr., always reminded us that:

“Jesus Christ is the real Medical Director of Oasis of Hope.”

That conviction remains at the heart of our mission today. Every treatment, prayer, and act of compassion reflects our belief that God is the ultimate healer, and we are His instruments of love and hope.

Daily Devotionals and Worship

Each morning at Oasis of Hope begins with prayer, worship, and reflection led by our on-staff pastor. These gatherings — open to all patients, companions, and staff — bring comfort, strength, and peace before the day’s treatments begin. Many patients describe these devotionals as moments where fear turns into faith and anxiety gives way to calm.

On Sundays, we come together for a joyful worship service often led by Dr. Francisco Contreras, celebrating life, faith, and the healing power of Christ. These services remind us that, even in difficult times, we are never alone — God walks beside us in every step of the journey.

Emotional and Psychological Care

Oasis of Hope Emotional Support

Cancer affects more than the body — it impacts the mind and emotions of both patients and their loved ones. Our on-staff clinical psychologist provides one-on-one counseling, emotional wellness sessions, and family support to help patients process fear, grief, and uncertainty.

Through personalized therapy and group workshops, patients learn to reduce stress, find inner peace, and build resilience. Emotional balance strengthens the body’s ability to heal, and many find renewed hope through understanding, connection, and faith.

Support for Companions and Families

At Oasis of Hope, we know that cancer touches everyone in a family. We offer group sessions and workshops to help companions manage emotional fatigue, find spiritual renewal, and connect with others who understand their experience. When loved ones are supported, the circle of healing becomes even stronger.

A Living Ministry

Oasis of Hope Spiritual Support

Oasis of Hope is more than a hospital — it’s a living ministry where science and faith work hand in hand. Our doctors and staff serve with compassion, humility, and prayer, recognizing that medicine treats the body, but God heals the soul.

“Faith, Hope, and Love — and the greatest of these is Love.”
— 1 Corinthians 13:13

For more than 60 years, patients have come to Oasis of Hope not only to receive treatment, but to rediscover peace, purpose, and the comforting presence of Christ. Here, you are never just a patient — you are part of a family of faith and healing.
