Photobiomodulation for Cellular Health

Infrared light therapy—also known as photobiomodulation—uses red and near-infrared wavelengths to support mitochondrial function, cellular repair, and the body’s natural healing response.

What Is Infrared Therapy?

At Oasis of Hope, we use infrared light therapy to help the body heal more effectively—boosting cell function, supporting the immune system, and promoting gentle detoxification alongside your other treatments. Sessions are non-invasive, well-tolerated, and delivered under the care of a doctor and a registered nurse as part of a coordinated plan.

How it works

This process is called photobiomodulation: infrared light travels deep into tissues and is absorbed by the mitochondria—the tiny “batteries” inside your cells. With this light cue, mitochondria can produce more cellular energy (ATP), helping healthy cells repair, regenerate, and function better, especially during times of stress such as cancer treatment. Along the way, steady warmth helps open blood vessels, improves micro-circulation, and encourages oxygen delivery. It also supports lymphatic flow and sweating, which are helpful partners for detox routines.

Why it matters in cancer treatment

Many tumors exist in areas with low oxygen and a pro-inflammatory, toxin-rich microenvironment. By increasing cellular energy, improving blood flow, and modulating inflammation, photobiomodulation helps create a healthier internal terrain—one that supports recovery and can help your body respond more effectively to other therapies in your plan.

Key therapeutic benefits

  • Enhanced mitochondrial performance → more cellular energy and resilience.
  • Upregulated detox support → heat-induced perspiration and gentle mobilization of stored byproducts.
  • Immune system support → better circulation, oxygen transport, and balanced inflammatory signaling.

How we use it at Oasis of Hope

Infrared therapy is personalized and integrated into your protocol—often 1-3 sessions per week for 20–40 minutes, scheduled to bookend higher-intensity days so your week has a smooth rhythm of activation and recovery. We pair sessions with hydration and electrolytes and, when helpful, light breathing or stretching to keep things comfortable and restorative.

How it fits with your other therapies

  • ImPACT Immunotherapy: Place IR on non-collection/infusion days to support recovery and physiologic balance.
  • Metabolic therapies (e.g., High-Dose IV Vitamin C): Use IR near infusion days to help maintain tissue perfusion and oxygen delivery.
  • Ozone/EBOO & Oxygenation: Alternate IR on adjacent days to carry micro-circulatory gains forward and sustain an oxygen-friendly environment.
  • Full-Body Hyperthermia: Use IR on lighter days to extend warmth-driven benefits without duplicating intensity.
  • IPT (Insulin Potentiated Therapy): Place IR on recovery days to support circulation between cycles.
  • Nutrition & Detox: Combine IR with targeted nutrition, hydration, and gentle detox routines to keep elimination pathways moving in step with care.
